Indiana High Speed Rail Association Press Release

Federal Rail Official Returns to Indiana

For immediate release: May 7, 2012

Gary, IN - The Indiana High Speed Rail Association will once again host Joseph C. Szabo, administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration on Friday, May 18 at 11:30 AM. The luncheon event will be at the John Anderson Conference Center at Indiana University Northwest, 3400 Broadway. Szabo spoke to some 250 persons at the Gary / Chicago International Airport in January 2010.

Szabo is expected to tout the high speed rail plan of President Barack Obama and to encourge Indiana to become more agressive in the funding and implementation of the Midwest Regional Rail System. The state has yet to this point to embrace the system, but Indiana Association officials look to this seminar, along with the the proposed Business Plan for High Speed Rail in Indiana to encouage Indiana officials to become more proactive. The study is expected to show large economic benefits for the Midwest Regional Rail System in Indiana.

Cost of the luncheon is $29.00 and reservations may be made by clicking the link on our home page. Questions can be directed to Dennis Hodges at either dennis@indianahighspeedrail.org or 219.887.1351. The event is open to the public.
