Gary Mayor Kicks Off the 13th Annual Golden Spike Seminar

Gary, IN - The Indiana High Speed Rail Association will host Gary Mayor Karen Freeman Wilson on Thursday, May 17 at 7:30 AM. The breakfast event will be at the John Anderson Conference Center at Indiana University Northwest, 3400 Broadway, and is the prelude to the Association's 13th Annual Golden Spike Seminar: Why Indiana is so important to the Midwest Regional Rail System (high-speed rail project)
Freeman-Wilson is expected to discuss the importance of 21st century transportation for this city, which was first built on 20th century rail transportation, and to offer support for the funding and implementation of the Midwest Regional Rail System in Indiana. The state has yet to embrace the system, but Indiana Association officials look to this seminar, along with a proposed Business Plan for High Speed Rail in Indiana to encouage Indiana officials to become more proactive. The study is expected to show large economic benefits for the Midwest Regional Rail System in Indiana.
